Dr. M. A. (“Buddy”) Urbanczyk, Jr., has owned and operated Block House Creek Animal Hospital since it’s founding in 1988. With over 30 years experience in the general practice of veterinary medicine, Dr. Urbanczyk is also a USDA accredited veterinarian. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982, with degrees in Animal Science and Veterinary Science, and he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. His passion for animals, his commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine, and his dedication to his patients have won him the trust and loyalty of many long-time patients and their caregivers.
Dr. Stacy Hodges, DVM, began her passion for veterinary medicine in 2002 when she began working for Dr. Urbanczyk in the kennel after school. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2007 with a BS in Biology and Chemistry, she completed her veterinary education at Ross University on St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She finished clinical rotations at Auburn University in January of 2012. Stacy takes great interest in all animals — small, large, and exotic — and specializes in internal medicine, including ultrasonography.
Dr. Robert Rhyne graduated from Texas A&M University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After graduation, he practiced in Florida for eight years before returning to Texas in 1992.
Dr. Angela Chang joins BHCAH following a Postdoctoral Research fellow, Comparative Medicine at Stanford School of Medicine. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A. & M. University in 2010. Dr. Angela Chang’s research interests are animal welfare and refinement, translational research, and regulatory management. She has published dozens of research articles for the Journal of Veterinary Science & Medical Diagnosis (JVSMD),a scholarly peer- reviewed academic journal that encourages rigorous research that covers all clinical, medical, scientific and technological aspects of veterinary medicine. Angela, also is skilled and passionate about acupuncture and acupressure, for both dogs and cats. We are fortunate to have Angela on our team. She is not only a smart cookie, but also works as relief veterinarian for other clinics, and provides academic and scientific consultation. Given that you wouldn’t think she has time for fun, but think again. She is a foodie who loves to cook, travel, sustainable living and participated most recently in the Nike Women’s Marathon!
Dr. Alexis Chantz Imholz, DVM graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2013 with a BS in Animal Science. She attended veterinary school at Ross University and completed her clinical rotations at Auburn University in January 2017. Her interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and preventative medicine. She has two adorable cats, Hookah and Becks and enjoys crafting, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Wells has practiced Veterinary Medicine for many years and assists time to time.
